Speed, Agility, Quickness Warm up

What’s going on everyone? Athletic training is one of my favorite forms of training. Why? Maybe because I was a basketball player for a number years. Athletic training is a great way to train the bodies performance. Speed, agility, and quickness. Are essential components of athletic training.

Walking, for most of us is a daily activity. Whether you walk more than others, we can all say, for the most part, we all walk. How do we usually walk? We’re usually walking forward. How often do you catch yourself walking backward? Or how even laterally( side to side)? As simple as moving backward and side to side may seem. Most people struggle with these movements, and there’s a high risk of injury when performing these movements incorrectly.

Moving laterally in sports is a given. In most sports, you have to be able to move sideways. If you’re not an athlete or have limited daily activity. Try these simple foot speed warm-up drills.

  1. Lateral high knees
  2. Later Karaoke’s
  3. Quick feet with hip switching

Do each for 30 seconds no rest all the way through, then rest for 30 seconds, then repeat. For maximum results repeat 3-4x.
